New ECTN Guidelines for Vehicle Components to Angola

New Import Procedures for Vehicle Components

As per the latest directive from the Regulatory Agency for Cargo Certification and Logistics of Angola, and aligned with Presidential Decree No. 155/20 dated June 1st, new import procedures have been introduced—effective immediately.

Previously required only for complete vehicle shipments, prior authorization from the Angola National Land Transport Agency is now also mandatory for specific vehicle components, identified by the following harmonized tariff codes:

  • 8408.20 – Vehicle propulsion engines
  • 8708.40 – Gearboxes, gears, and related parts
  • 8706.00 – Chassis with engines (vehicles under headings 87.01 to 87.05)
  • 8707 – Vehicle bodies and cabins (87.01 to 87.05)
  • 8708.94 – Steering systems and components
  • 8708.80 – Suspension systems and components
  • 8708.50 – Transmission systems

Required Documentation

To comply with updated procedures, exporters must now submit proof of ANTT pre-authorization License along with standard documentation:

  • Bill of Lading – A draft copy is acceptable for initial submission
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Freight Invoice – Required if freight costs are not included in the commercial invoice
  • Documento Único (D.U. / Import License)

Reviewers strongly recommend verifying upcoming shipments to ensure compliance and avoid delays or rejections at destination.
